Amerige, the land of Americus: we want to discover it too, not by ship but by bicycle. For one year we cycle from San Francisco through the double continent of North America (with Central America) and South America, and after 10,000 kilometres in the saddle we finally reach our goal in Montevideo, Uruguay.

The Silk Road, a network of roads linking the Mediterranean with East Asia. Over the Pamir Highway to Kashgar, where merchants once carried silk, gunpowder and paper from China to Europe. Where caravans once dragged themselves through the dust, we travel by bicycle, right across South-East Asia to Singapore.

La Paz, at an altitude of 3,200 to 4,100 m, is the highest seat of government in the world. The Salar de Uyuni, at more than 10,000 square kilometres, is the largest salt flat on earth. Chile, 4,300 kilometres long and cut off like an island by the peaks of the Andes, and Patagonia, with Tierra del Fuego at the stormy end of the world. New Zealand, the green island at the other end of the world, which has a lot to offer, from kiwis and the Maori to volcanic glaciers.
